New York security alert

As I write, Mike Bloomberg, the city's mayor, is giving a press conference about a hightened state of alert on the city's subway system following what he describes as a 'specific' threat. Having just come home on the 6 train, I can't say I noticed anything out of the ordinary. No sign, as yet, of any impact on the continuing rush hour.
