Another reason to love the BBC

Not only do they bring back Doctor Who, but they now announce that they are bringing back Sarah Jane Smith as his assistant. Could this be the final proof that God exists and that he is in fact commissioning editor at the Beeb? Is there no end to their generosity? The only negative side is that there is still no sign of it being broadcast here in the US. I shall have to gorge on the feast during my trips back home.

Here, US viewers are being regaled for the first time with what might be seen as the British version of Desperate Housewives: Footballers' Wives. The critics seem to love it. Whether it gains a viewership of more than two (one of whom is me) remains to be seen.

Footballer's Wives nowhere near matches the excellent writing of Desperate Housewives, I think it's closer to being a UK version of Days of our Lives or Sunset Beach.
